5/3

DrJ (2:08:18 PM): wtf, right?
Rev (2:08:27 PM): thats what i'd be saying
Rev (2:09:09 PM): I was wondering what happened, i'd sent you a couple of emails about panda...
Rev (2:09:15 PM): thought you were at work
Rev (2:09:35 PM): wtf everybody
Rev (2:10:01 PM): brb
Rev (2:15:50 PM): so yer just in limbo then
DrJ (2:16:07 PM): from the info I just dredged up... he was gone to a compliance thinga-doo
DrJ (2:16:32 PM): Unable to quell the unrest and alarmed at the rising casualty list, the Marines have handed over control of Fallujah to Jasim Mohamed Saleh, most recently a general in Saddam Hussein's feared Republican Guard. This represents an about-face for the Bush administration, which vowed that no Baathist would ever again hold power in Iraq. For his part, Saleh seemed happy to have a job again and said he would restore order to the city of 300,000, where opposition to the American occupation has been fierce. Wonder what he meant by that.
Rev (2:16:34 PM): mo's going to one tomorrow
DrJ (2:16:36 PM): From Wired
Rev (2:17:25 PM): order -- El Salvador style
DrJ (2:17:37 PM): nice
DrJ (2:17:47 PM): Good job Bush... "mission accomplished"
Rev (2:18:01 PM): i heard that they converted the city's soccer stadium in fallujah into a mass grave
DrJ (2:18:52 PM): you know, I would loved to believe that I can live in a world where i don't have to hear about "mass graves" anymore
DrJ (2:18:57 PM): isn't that fucking possible?
DrJ (2:19:01 PM): or am I just a naive hippy
DrJ (2:19:03 PM): ?
Rev (2:19:45 PM): well, as long as we're building more and better bombs...someone's bound to use them
DrJ (2:19:53 PM): true dat
Rev (2:20:20 PM): and unless the new bombs simply obliterate people completely, we're gonna need a place to collect the refuse, so to speak
Rev (2:21:56 PM): http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/?040510fa_fact
Rev (2:22:21 PM): this article just may be a watershed political event (coupled with the 60 min. piece that aired last week)
DrJ (2:33:27 PM): that's amazing
DrJ (2:33:32 PM): of course, I'd heard about it
DrJ (2:33:35 PM): seen the pictures
DrJ (2:33:39 PM): sickening
DrJ (2:34:01 PM): where our divine imperitive? our moral righteousness?
Rev (2:34:54 PM): so i take it that the only difference between the way we run the prison and the way saddam ran it is that we can afford to put new tile in
DrJ (2:35:06 PM): dont' forget new toilets
DrJ (2:35:12 PM): and polaroids
Rev (2:35:14 PM): yeah
Rev (3:07:52 PM): so whatcha doin today then
Rev (3:08:53 PM): http://www.tompaine.com/feature2.cfm/ID/10326
DrJ (3:25:13 PM): ack
DrJ (3:25:23 PM): finishing up some half-read novels
DrJ (3:25:43 PM): I finally finished Gibson's 'Mona Lisa Overdrive'
DrJ (3:25:46 PM): fucking smashing
Rev (3:26:23 PM): so you think yer gonna be in to work tomorrow?
DrJ (3:27:08 PM): that's the plan
DrJ (3:30:12 PM): this article is just hinting at what I've feared for quite some time... Bush warring for America to gain "leverage" over the Middle East is pressing the issue of Palestine v Israel. In the end though, which in America's case is usually provoking violence, which side are America's guns most likely to be pointed at?
DrJ (3:31:57 PM): hmm
Rev (3:41:16 PM): sand niggers
Rev (3:41:21 PM): they're pointed at them
DrJ (3:41:52 PM): it scares me NOT how much this situation resembles Vietnam... instead how it mirrors South America
DrJ (3:42:06 PM): + Central Am.
Rev (3:45:18 PM): i just don't care anymore
DrJ (3:45:34 PM): you can't NOT care
Rev (3:46:20 PM): yes i can
Rev (3:46:27 PM): in fact, that may be my new thing
Rev (3:46:45 PM): its my god given right as a citizen of a democratic republic
Rev (3:46:49 PM): to choose to not care
Rev (3:47:09 PM): and believe you me, GOD HIMSELF gave me that right
DrJ (3:47:14 PM): well, you aren't the only one who thinks that way... clearly middle America thinks that way
Rev (3:47:20 PM): it was 20 years ago today
DrJ (3:47:28 PM): 84?
Rev (3:47:34 PM): (sgt. pepper taught the band to play)
DrJ (3:47:50 PM): Beware the savage jaw of 1984
Rev (3:48:04 PM): the gaping maw
DrJ (3:48:25 PM): fuck dude
DrJ (3:48:40 PM): should I start to read Spectacular Happiness or start Quicksilver up again?
Rev (3:49:22 PM): well, joy just started spec. happy
Rev (3:49:35 PM): so if you want to start that, you can have a meaningful little dialogue
DrJ (3:49:35 PM): did she... cunning little stunt
DrJ (3:49:55 PM): oh, I'm like you... I don't want "meaning" anymore
DrJ (3:50:11 PM): "meaning" is for snobs and high society folks.
DrJ (3:50:29 PM): Just give me some big-lipped negroes, a banjo playin and some titties
Rev (3:50:42 PM): garden parties and aged scotch
DrJ (3:50:51 PM): WELL-aged scotch
Rev (3:51:18 PM): and big lipped negroes holding trays full of heavy foods
DrJ (3:51:30 PM): full of crawdads and alligator pie
